Here at our abalone farm in Port Fairy Victoria, we get particularly busy in the lead up to every Lunar New Year.
We start taking export orders for the Luna New Year festival around September, or after the Mid-Autumn festival celebrations have concluded.
Our dedicated crew of aquaculture technicians then ensure our abalone are suitably relaxed for picking, grading and delivering our live green tiger abalone to our local processor, just a 45-minute drive down the road, where they’re immediately and expertly shucked and processed into the premium, ready-to-eat abalone you may know and love.
Packed into well-protected pallets, all product for export stays within the export supply chain as it is freighted directly to the port for sea shipping, or airport for air freight, usually by November.
Also in November, we’re taking orders from Australian specialty grocers stocking canned and vacuum-packed abalone for the entire festive season, December to February.
At the same time, we have a job keeping our online store stocked as Black Friday-Cyber Monday sales are the perfect time to stock up for the festive season, and we stay busy through Christmas, our Boxing Day-New Year sale up until last orders for Lunar New Year.
Our green tigers are available live too – direct from the farm, or a range of reputable seafood suppliers in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
Special purpose-built spray bins keep our live abalone cool, comfortable and in top condition as we personally deliver them direct to the majority of our customers.
